How Do I Know If Integrate and Thrive Will Help Me?

The majority (if not all) of our clients have seen many other types of practitioners before getting to us. Before hopping into yet another type of treatment, most people want to make sure that Integrate and Thrive’s work will not mess up the progress they may have already made and that it is worth adding in. Here we will try to answer that question for you. Another article we have written - How is Integrate and Thrive Different Than the Other Modalities/Techniques/Treatments That I Have Tried? - is also another great resource to answer this question.

Have you…

been seeing a chiropractor for years and getting the same adjustment over and over?

continued to get a massage for the same tight muscles?

been referred to physical therapy again for the same problem? Or maybe even a different one?

been taking your child to speech therapy for years but they are still having trouble?

been prescribed another type of medication to try to suppress your PTSD?

continued to go to talk therapy but aren’t sure you are getting the most out of it that you can?

experienced the same injury repetitively?

Each type of treatment, therapy, modality, etc. has it’s purpose. However, sometimes you just need to go all the way back to the foundation. Using psychologists as an example, a quote from Bessel van der Kolk, author of The Body Keeps Score, explains this well:

“Psychologists usually try to help people use insight and understanding to manage their behavior. However, neuroscience research shows that very few psychological problems are the result of defects in understanding; most originate in pressures from deeper regions in the brain that drive out perception and attention. When the alarm bell of the emotional brain keeps signaling that you are in danger, no amount of insight will silence it.” - Bessel van der Kolk

The Masgutova Method that Integrate and Thrive utilizes works on the “deeper regions of the brain” that van der Kolk mentions. Again, this by no means is trying to say that you should stop seeing your psychologist, for example. It is just pointing out that in order to get true change, true success you may need to be going deeper than what just talk therapy can do.

This thought process can be applied to any of the scenarios given above and more. If you are constantly experiencing the same injury (ex. ankle sprains), then there is something underlying the incorrect movement pattern allowing for the injury. If you are going to the chiropractor to get the same treatment each time, there is a reason your bones/vertebrae keep moving out of place. If you are going to a massage therapist to relax the same muscle over and over, then there is a reason that muscle is tight. If your child is not meeting their developmental milestones (crawling, talking, etc.), then there is an underlying reason their body cannot handle more complicated tasks.

The work that Integrate and Thrive does will not interfere with the work you are already doing for your particular issue. In fact, it is likely to speed up the process and/or allow for greater success. We would make sure that you have a solid foundation so that your body can build off of it within the other techniques you are using. Integrate and Thrive as the ability to go deeper than training new movement patterns, irregular hormones, inability to hear/see well, and almost any other therapy. You wouldn’t start building your house at the roof would you? Let us make sure that your foundation is solid so that all the work you have already tried or will try in the future has an increased chance of actually sticking!
